Megan Kegerreis
Megan lives in Fishersville, VA and has been teaching with us since 2020. Her first encounter working with clay on the wheel was here in 2018. Feeling like a part of her was finally in place she has thoroughly enjoyed gaining skills and encouraging others in their work. She holds a MA Counseling and studied biology and chemistry in undergrad. Megan loves how her work with pottery connects these interests so well.
She first developed an appreciation for pottery though her family's personal collection which included intriguing large pit-fired pots, masks, and statues from West Africa, alongside a fantastic sampling of pottery from Door County, WI. The later, along with Jake's work, has firmly influenced her style. Her artistic goal is to capture the wonder of experiencing light and water flowing through natural spaces. When away from the studio, Megan stays busy with family life, working full time as an art and music teacher/ counselor, and taking time to appreciate the natural world. |
